Nate Dubs

Nate Dubs

Student Missions Club President

Hey, my name is Nate Dubs and I am excited to be working with Student Missions this year. My passion for mission work stems from my personal experience of being an academy history teacher last year on the beautiful island of Palau. My life was greatly impacted from my time as a student missionary so now I want to do everything I can to help other students have their own experience. Some things I like to do (but don’t get to do enough) are SCUBA diving, backpacking, paintball, drawing, and traveling. If you want to talk to someone about missions or anything else, come by the Campus Ministries office.

Jenessa King

Jenessa King

Receptionist

Hello there! My name is Jenessa King. I am a freshman here at Southern and so far it has been awesome! I am so excited to be working on the Campus Ministries team this year. It is great to see happy faces in the Student Center. Calhoun, Georgia is the place I have called home for eleven years now. I really enjoy music; I love singing, playing the piano and of course listening to music. I like to travel, hike and try different foods. I especially love Thai food! I also find joy in working with youth. Above all I enjoy doing whatever God calls me to do and am looking forward to all that He has planned for my life. Come by the Campus Ministries Office anytime, I would love to meet you!

Sharon Engel

Sharon Engel

Receptionist

Greetings from Sharon Engel (formerly known as Dean Engel). I have just retired from being Dean of Women at SAU for the past 21 years. I have been married to Rick for the past 44 years, am the mother of two and the grandmother of five. My hobbies are reading and scrapbooking. My life has taken another direction of still working with young people, just on a different level. Helping out in Campus Ministries, working with such a great team of student leaders as well as our Chaplain team is a real blessing to me. Look for great things to happen with the Lord this year!

Gayle M

Gayle Moore

Office/Manager Student Missions Coordinator

I am Gayle. A year ago, my husband, Gary and I moved to Collegedale from Calhoun, GA with our children, Jerica and Travis, who are both students at SAU. Our oldest daughter, Nicole, a recent graduate of Southern, is married to Tim Knowlton and teaches school in Georgia. Even though I have lived in the south for over 15 years, I am proud of being a native of Canada and have lived in California, Illinois, Germany, Georgia and Michigan. I love to travel, spend time with my family and am passionate about good music. I have the privilege of working with the young people on campus who are interested in taking a year of their college experience to serve the Lord as a Student Missionary or Task Force Worker. Being an SM is a WIN-WIN situation. For the SM, it is a life changing experience and a terrific adventure but the benefits from the lives they touch and the seeds that are sown for Jesus are immeasurable. Stop by my office. I would love the opportunity to talk with you.

K. H. Kibble

Kevin Kibble

Associate Chaplain

Thanks for visiting our website! I enjoy sharing with as many students as possible in as small a number as I can. I have a special place in my heart for convocations and church services, but I especially like the big things that happen in very small groups. There is something special that happens when one, two or three get together to laugh, pray, question, dream and even shed a few tears over the realities of the Christian walk. Personal ministry is what I enjoy having God teach me about the most. I'm also a music and multimedia nut and tend to be a collector of way too many kinds of artifacts and incidentals. (Fortunately, there isn't quite that much spare time to spend on them.)

Jon Tillay

Jon Tillay

Creative Ministries

Hi, my name is Jon. I am a Junior theology major from Walla Walla, Washington. I enjoy all sorts of activities like rock climbing, camping, wakeboarding, and snow skiing. In fact, I am a certified ski teacher. Above all, I enjoy seeing God change lives for eternity! It’s amazing how easy it is to make an impact on someone’s life. Join me this year in reaching out to our community and see what God will do through you!

Andrea Keele

Andrea Keele

Student Missions Assistant

Hey, I'm Andrea, but my favorite pseudonym is Penelope. I just graduated from SAU in May '06 with a Bachelor's in Relgious Studies and a minor in Youth Ministry. Life on the other side of homework is beautiful! A few years ago, I spent a year in New Zealand as a volunteer youth worker. It was definitely one of the most life-changing experiences of my life, and I enjoy working with people who are interested in missions or have experienced it themselves.
